My brother and I loved The Seven Silly Eaters so much when we were growing up that we still have it memorized. My mother gives it to all of our relatives and friends whose children are having birthdays or baby showers.

In another vein, I was wondering if you had any tips for getting children's books published. Thanks.

memorized! What better tribute can an author have! As for getting your own work published, the best path you can take initially is to join the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. They are a gold mine of information and encouragement.

Dear Ms Hoberman,
Admittedly, we only have two of your books: 'The Seven Silly Eaters' and 'And to Think That We Thought That We'd Never Be Friends. The Seven Silly Eaters was, and still is, such a hit with my two daughters (and their parents!). We lived in DC for three years (until 2007), and I have continued to read in English to my girls, since.
I wondered, whether the Seven Silly Eaters was translated into Dutch? I would like to try, as the book has become such an important part of our family book history! Please, do not worry, in no way I would do anything commercial with your book. But I would like to find out if a translated version would prompt the same enthusiasm.

I was wondering if the cake in the Seven Silly Eaters is a real recipe? My mom and I would like to make it. We also really liked the rhyming in your book. My mom and I loved the illustrations too.

It is hard for me to put into words what A House is a House to Me means to me. I bought it for my daughter in 1981 when she was 2; we both loved it. We would get carried away with finding houses for everything created in the world. For the past 25 years your book has been quoted in my children's consignment store. Why I get choked up is because many people like me grew up without the feeling of a warm and happy house and I never realized I was actually a home for my ears and nose and hands and legs, etc. I feel your book is a house for loving things.

The kids in my daughters class loved your fish poem and have used it as a model to write about an olympic swimmer. They are entering it in an Enfield poetry competition. I hope that is ok. Thank you for inspiring them. Under the title is an acknowlegement to you.best wishes
