Hi Mrs. Hoberman, My name is Jayden and I am going to be 8 years old tomorrow! I read "You Read to Me and I'll Read to You" with my mom this summer. I think your book is really funny when "Little Red Riding Hood" jumped up and said "You Are Not My Grandma" to the Big Bad Wolf. I hope you write more books. I saw on this website that you write poetry and I'm going to read it with my mom. Thank you so much. I hope you write me on my birthday which is tomorrow. Thank you! Love, Jayden

Comment   Dear Jayden,
I am so sorry I did not write to you in time for your birthday but I wish you a Happy Belated Birthday! 8 is one of the best ages anyone can be! And I am writing more books, too. Maybe you can find some.

When I bought your book Seven Silly Eaters I did not know that is would be my daughters favorite childrens book. I had to replace my first copy when the cover ripped from being read so often.
Thank you so much for bringing me and my three daughters (and many nieces and friends) such laughter and fun while reading your wonderful story.

I am writing to inquire whether or not you do Skype author visits with schools. I am an elementary librarian in Texas.

Comment   I am still so ham-handed with Skype and its ilk that I am not fond of using it. I would not mind a telephone call, but that is probably too old-fashioned for today's kids.
Best wishes,
Mary Ann Hoberman

Dear Ms. Hoberman,
I'd like to know where I can find your poem "A Poem for the Reader" ? I noticed that it's in "Forget-Me-Nots". Is that the first time it was published? Is it also in "My Song Is Beautiful"? We'd like to use it for a course I'm working on. THANKS! Arigatou!

Comment   I wrote this poem especially for FOR-GET-ME-NOTS, so it does not appear in any of my other books. Depending on how you are going to use it, you might want to get in touch with the publisher,
Hachette-Little,Brown about copyright matters.
Best wishes,
Mary Ann Hoberman

Your colorful, fun and engaging books and rhyming poems help caring adults raise reading-ready children. Thanks for providing such wonderful read-aloud resources. We truly believe that "Reading aloud during the first five years of children's lives opens their ears to the sounds of words, their eyes to the wonder of pictures, their minds to new ideas, and their hearts to a love of books and learning."
And thanks for being a friend of the MAGs at the Foote School. Having two grandchildren at Foote, I know first-hand the value that it puts on connecting children with books and helping make books a part of their everyday lives.
Happy Reading Aloud!

Comment   Thanks so much for your wonderful message, Susan! And sorry I'm responding so late, but this summer has been taken up with family obligations.
